
Fruit allergy is a type of food allergy, it is a rare allergy. Fruits that are known to cause allergies: apricots, bananas, cherries, kiwis, melons, papayas, peaches, pineapples, plums, and strawberries.
Oral allergy syndrome or OAS is an allergic reaction to usually fresh fruits. Common symptoms: itching, and swelling in the mouth, lips, tongue, throat, and palate. Other symptoms include urticaria (hives), contact dermatitis, allergic rhinitis, and asthma.
For those allergic to fruits, cooking may help reduce or eliminate the reaction to some fruits.You can avoid the fruits that give you allergies, and you don’t need medical treatment.
