Allergies protect us from certain cancers
Allergies are something more than a very stiff reaction to immune system in contact with different substances and environmental factors. Allergies can protect us against some cancers, we are by inform researchers from Cornell University, New York.
Not allowing certain substances with carcinogenic potential in some cases, to penetrate the body, allergies keep up away from malignant diseases.
That’s because the allergic reactions acts as a warning system, informing us about the harmful substances that you should avoid.
In addition, previous studies show that a patient’s medical history of cancer is not including too many allergies. In other words, most often, cancer excludes the existence of allergy in the past.
After examining nearly 650 studies conducted over the past 50 years, researchers at Cornell University came to several conclusions.
The first is that allergy sufferers will not have organs affected by cancer that come in direct contact with the external environment – oral cavity, esophagus, colon, rectum, skin, cervix, pancreas, brain.
And here enters into discussion just allergies due that triggers to direct exposure to environmental allergens assault: eczema, hives, hay fever (allergy to pollen), food allergies and those from animal hair.
The second conclusion is that asthma favors the formation of malignant lung tumors. Researchers found that asthma actually obstructes the airways, leaving the lungs to cleanse naturally and blocking any possible allergic reaction and beneficial prophylactic.
